Focus topic: Migration in the Med - how merchant shipping is affected

This month, we are taking a look back at the development of maritime migration across the Mediterranean. The continued politicisation of migration by the European Union has had no effect on migrant numbers or behaviour in the central Mediterranean. Meanwhile, the situation is exposing merchant ships to increased migratory pressure.

In addition, the report provides a brief update on the maritime implications of the war in Ukraine.
