This month’s issue of the Monthly Intelligence Report covers incidents that took place between April 1 - 30, 2023, in three focus regions:

Focus topic: The EU’s new maritime security strategy

This month, we are taking a look back at the EU’s recently updated maritime security strategy. For the private sector in particular, the focus on the protection of critical maritime infrastructure and the potential impact of hybrid threats are important to note. In the medium to long term, these aims are likely to have significant impacts on infrastructure developments which are often financed and operated by the private sector.

In addition, the report provides a brief update on the maritime implications of the war in Ukraine.
