Ship Security Plans (SSP)

An SSP should always be developed in close cooperation with the Company Security Officer, the CSO, to meet every vessel’s exact security needs and ensure that any operational or vessel specific details are taken into account. Our advisory consultants work in close cooperation with CSOs to produce high quality, clear and operational SSPs.

Ship Security Plans (SSP)

Every vessel above 500 GT in your fleet is required by the International Ship and Port Facility code (ISPS code) to carry a Ship Security Plan, or SSP. The purpose of this plan is to provide guidance on ship security issues and guide Masters guidance with regards to the vessel's security response and ensure that all necessary security training, procedures and compliance measures are in place.

SSPs are developed by our advisory consultants in close cooperation with the Company Security Officer, the CSO. The plan is tailored to both fleet size and budget and can be provided as either a specific vessel document or as a template for vessel type(s), which can then be tailored by the CSO.

Working with Risk Intelligence to create SSPs ensures complete compliance with national and international regulations and common marine practice. You will get full documentation for Masters and crews as well as recommendations of training where needed with complete integration of company and vessel specifics.
