Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

For one of the World’s leading security risk intelligence companies; we are looking for an experienced CFO to lead all finance activities with special focus on managing Investor Relations and securing compliance with all legal aspects of being a publicly listed company.

The company
Risk Intelligence provides independent, unbiased, intelligence-led advisory services to private and governmental clients on security threats and risks.

Risk Intelligence specialises in analysing threats from and interaction between piracy, organised crime, terrorism, insurgency and military conflicts since 2001. We advise more than 12% of the World fleet on prevention of maritime security incidents at both the vessel and company level. Additionally, we provide maritime security analysis to private and governmental organisations.

Risk Intelligence strives to be a security partner to our clients in order to proactively address and advise clients on security related activities that may support commercial opportunities. We believe that a thorough understanding of the threats in combination with insight to our clients’ needs enables us to produce high quality threat and risk assessments and consulting services that are tailored to clients’ operations.

Risk Intelligence is now preparing for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in support of its ambitious growth plans.

The organisation
The CFO becomes member of the management team, and reports to the CEO.

The position
The CFO enters into a well-functioning, partially outsourced finance administrative setup, where accounting, controlling, reporting etc. works well, but with the upcoming listing of the company; some areas need to be improved.

Given the size of the company, the CFO is expected to contribute on all levels, from hands-on operational finance tasks, to act as a qualified strategic and financial advisor to the CEO and the management team of Risk Intelligence; providing insight, driving key strategies, target setting and decisions that maximize company value.

With the planned IPO, the CFO shall initially focus on ensuring that Risk Intelligence gets well through its IPO. Subsequently, the CFO takes responsibility for ensuring, that Risk Intelligence adheres to the rules and legislation for listed companies (e.g. MAR).

Following this, the CFO is expected to assess and develop the company's future finance administrative setup (outsourced vs. insourced), so the company is geared for growth.

The tasks of the CFO will amongst other include:

  • Reports, Presentations and Communications
  • Financial reporting, controlling target setting etc. (interim, quarterly and annually)
  • Stock information (transparency, dividend etc.)
  • Corporate governance (committees, auditor etc.)
  • IPO and any future capital increases
  • IR Contact and contact to Stock exchange (Spotlight Stock Market)
  • MAR (Market Abuse Regulation/Insider Regulation)
  • Tax and related matters
  • Contract negotiations and management

The ideal candidate

  • Proven track record of success as “hands-on” head of finance in a publicly listed company.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting is required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of increasing fiscal responsibility.
  • Up-to-date on the rules and legislation for listed companies (MAR)
  • Ambition and ability to navigate successfully within a small, entrepreneurial culture is required.
  • The ability to interpret strategic and operational business requirements, to provide appropriate expert advice and financial planning counsel and effectively influence and communicate.
  • Fluency in English.

International Sales Manager

The Sales Director of Risk Intelligence.

The position
The International Sales Manager will be responsible for growing the sales of Risk Intelligence’s unique advisory services to new and existing customers within the Maritime industry globally.

The priority is on new customer acquisition supported with quality leads from Risk Intelligence’s efficient Lead Generation Team and general marketing activities.

In addition to the sales growth from new customers; the International Sales Manager is responsible for building strong and valuable relations to key decision makers among existing customers to secure customer retention and to develop customer engagement further.

The focus will be on customers in EMEA, but the International Sales Manager will be involved with customers globally and must expect 60-100 days of travel yearly.

The ideal candidate
Is an internationally experienced sales person with strong competencies in customer acquisition and in relationship sales to existing customers.

There are several backgrounds that could qualify for the job, but it is a precondition that you have an open and international mind-set, and good understanding of the Maritime industry.

You have at least 5 years of experience in selling advisory services – maybe even to Maritime customers.

You have a strong personal drive, and you have the passion for sales, it takes to sell the unique advisory services of Risk Intelligence in the global Maritime market.

Equally important, you are fluent in English, and preferably proficient in another major European language.

Sales Lead Manager

Internship position September 2018 - January 2019

Are you interested in working on security analysis in the international arena?

Risk Intelligence in Copenhagen, Denmark, is offering an internship position to a dedicated person with interest in maritime security risks.

Risk Intelligence provides independent, unbiased, intelligence-led analysis and advisory services to private and governmental clients on security threats and risks. Risk Intelligence has been specialising in analysing threats from and interaction between piracy, organised crime, terrorism, insurgency and military conflicts since 2001. We advise on security analysis to private and governmental organisations.

Job description
As an intern at Risk Intelligence you will take part in a broad range of activities relating to analysis, research and customer relations. With the support of your supervisor, you will be expected to take part in everyday activities at the office, including analytical tasks as well as some administrative duties. Your responsibilities will vary and be at different levels of complexity depending upon your background, skills and interests.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role you must have:

  • A Bachelor degree, preferably from fields relating to Political Science/International Relations/security/intelligence etc. or equivalent work experience/training in the security and intelligence field
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • International experience from living and/or working abroad is desirable.

We place strong emphasis on your personal characteristics, and you should be social, outgoing and communicative to fit in with the staff.

Conditions
The Internship is within the period September 2018 - January 2019. We are open towards tailoring the duration of the internship in accordance with your requirements, but the desired duration is a minimum of 4 months.

The internship is unpaid. Reasonable expenses in relation to the internship, however, may be covered. The intern will be working at the Risk Intelligence headquarters in Hellerup, just outside Copenhagen, Denmark.
