Portraits of new interns at Risk Intelligence

Risk Intelligence welcomes two new interns

18 September 2020

Risk Intelligence is pleased to welcome Amaliah Reiskind and Veronica del Torre to the positions as analyst interns for the duration of their autumn and winter internship. Both interns will be working with us until mid-January 2021, and we very much look forward to working with them.

Amaliah Reiskind, a dual Danish-Canadian citizen, holds a B.Comm in Global Management from Ryerson University in Toronto, as well as a post-graduate diploma in Global Security (specialising in cyber security) from the University of Glasgow, and examined shipping and supply chains during both degrees. She has also completed an internship with the NATO Association of Canada as Programme Editor for Cyber Security and Information Warfare, contributing as a research analyst.

Amaliah Reiskind says:

"I’ve always enjoyed studies and work with an international focus, which I guess is why I was drawn to shipping security. Right now, I am figuring out what to write my thesis on, but I am hoping to focus on something related to port or shipping cyber security standards within the EU. I look forward to working with the Risk Intelligence analyst team and delving more into maritime security."

Veronica del Torre is Italian and recently completed her MSc in International Security and Law from the University of Southern Denmark with a dissertation on the ‘State-sponsorship in the Terror-Crime Nexus: Hezbollah and the FARC’.

During her MA, she completed an internship as Researcher and Communication assistant with the Euro-Gulf Information Center in Rome, deepening her knowledge about terrorism and Europe-Middle East relations. Veronica's academic background encompasses a BA in International Relations and Diplomatic Science from the University of Trieste (Italy), where she also had the opportunity to participate to the Erasmus+ Exchange Programme at the Universidad de Alcalà (Spain) for 9 months, focusing on International Law, in particular on crime-related issues.

Veronica del Torre says:

"Latin America and Middle East relations with Europe have always interested me. Moreover, I have always enjoyed study and work in an international environment with an international focus. I look forward to learning more about maritime security and working with everyone at Risk Intelligence."
